Explore the basics of configuring Tours with Jimo
How do I create a Tour?
To set up Tours, you'll use the Jimo Dashboard and in-app Builder. From the pokes page in the Dashboard, select Tours and click the "New tour" button.
In the Dashboard, you can easily configure every aspect of your Tour, such as its display timing, frequency of display to users, but also the segment of users that should see it using a straightforward flow.
Let's walk through the steps involved in configuring a Tour.
Building Tour Steps
When creating a new Tour, you have the choice to either start from one of our existing templates, or create a brand new one from scratch.
The process of building and styling your Tour takes place directly in-app, through the Builder, but you can manage your Steps easily from within the Dashboard afterwards.
When you "Enter the Builder", the Jimo in-app Builder will open in a new tab on your product, allowing you to fully configure the Tour's position. When you're satisfied with your Tour, return to the Dashboard to view all the changes and configure next the Audience part of your Tour.
In the Builder, you can set additional settings for each of the Tour Steps, such the ability for users to "Click to progress", display rules for specific positioning and control, and personalize each of the Tour Steps to create more immersive and complex user experiences.
Use these settings to enhance your user's journey and derive continuous value from your guidance and product.
Selecting your audience Segment
The next step is to select the users who will see your Tour. Targeting Tours to the appropriate users promotes deeper engagement. You can select from your available Segments or create a new one on the fly specifically for this Tour.
Setting a Recurrence
Ensure that your Tour is contextual and non-intrusive by setting when and how frequently it will be displayed to your users. You can choose to have Tours to appear:
- After the next page load,
- On a specific user action,
- Time-based, such as every week, month, or year.
By using Tour Recurrence, you can encourage users to take action while they interact with your product.

You know all the basics to create amazing tours to elevate users engagement to new levels.
